Standard Terms & Conditions

1. Introduction

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of DoctorDirectory.co.za (“DoctorDirectory”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), an online platform that lists healthcare providers and facilitates appointment enquiries and booking requests.

By accessing or using the website or any related services (the “Services”), you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you may not use the website or Services.

If you use the website on behalf of another person or entity, you confirm that you are authorised to accept these Terms on their behalf.

2. Nature of the Services

DoctorDirectory provides:

  • A free directory of healthcare providers
  • Informational provider profiles
  • Optional booking or enquiry functionality
  • An optional paid Booking Platform for healthcare professionals

DoctorDirectory does not provide medical treatment, medical advice, diagnosis, or emergency services.

We are not a healthcare provider and do not employ or control any listed practitioners.

3. Booking Platform (For Healthcare Professionals)

Healthcare professionals may activate an optional integrated Booking Platform.

  • A free trial period may be provided upon registration.
  • After the trial period ends, continued access requires payment of a quarterly service fee in advance.
  • The Booking Platform is a software tool only and does not include medical services.

If the quarterly fee is not paid before expiry:

  • Access to the Booking Platform will be suspended.
  • Appointments scheduled beyond the expiry date may be automatically cancelled.
  • DoctorDirectory shall not be responsible for notifying patients of cancellations resulting from non-renewal.

Healthcare professionals are solely responsible for managing, confirming, cancelling, and communicating appointment details with their patients.

DoctorDirectory does not process patient payments.

4. No Medical Advice

All information available on the website is provided for general informational and scheduling purposes only.

Use of the website does not create a doctor–patient relationship between you and DoctorDirectory or any listed provider.

You should always seek professional medical advice directly from a qualified healthcare provider.

5. No Endorsement or Background Checks

DoctorDirectory does not recommend, endorse, or guarantee any healthcare provider listed on the platform.

Provider information is supplied by providers themselves or from publicly available sources.

We do not conduct background checks, credential verification, or licensing confirmation. You are responsible for verifying a provider’s qualifications, registration status, and suitability.

6. No Guarantees

The website and Services are provided on an “as-is” and “as-available” basis.

We make no warranties that:

  • Providers will be available or accept bookings
  • Appointments will be honoured
  • The website or Booking Platform will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free

DoctorDirectory is not responsible for cancelled, delayed, unfulfilled, or incorrectly scheduled appointments.

7. Fees

Directory listings are free.

The Booking Platform is optional and subject to a quarterly service fee.

All healthcare service fees are determined solely by the healthcare provider and are payable directly to them. DoctorDirectory does not collect or process patient consultation payments.

Quarterly Booking Platform fees are generally non-refundable once access has been granted, except in cases of duplicate billing or verified technical failure preventing access.

8. User Responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Use the website lawfully and for legitimate purposes
  • Provide accurate and truthful information
  • Keep your login details secure

You may not:

  • Scrape, copy, or harvest data from the website
  • Use automated tools to access the platform
  • Misuse provider or user contact details
  • Attempt unauthorised access to systems or accounts

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access for misuse.

Healthcare professionals are responsible for:

  • Maintaining accurate profile information
  • Complying with applicable professional regulations
  • Managing patient communications

9. User Content and Reviews

Users may submit reviews, feedback, or other content (“User Content”).

You are solely responsible for any User Content you submit.

You agree not to post content that is:

  • False or misleading
  • Defamatory, abusive, or unlawful
  • Infringing intellectual property or privacy rights

By submitting User Content, you grant DoctorDirectory a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use, display, and publish such content in connection with the Services.

We reserve the right to remove User Content at our discretion.

10. Intellectual Property

All website content, branding, and software are owned by or licensed to DoctorDirectory and are protected by intellectual property laws.

You may view, download, and print content for personal use only. No commercial use is permitted without prior written consent.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

DoctorDirectory shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from:

  • Use or inability to use the website or Booking Platform
  • Interactions with healthcare providers
  • Reliance on information contained on the website
  • Cancelled or rescheduled appointments
  • Loss of income, loss of patients, or business interruption

We are not responsible for service interruptions caused by:

  • Technical failures
  • Hosting or server downtime
  • Internet outages
  • Cybersecurity incidents
  • Force majeure events

In any event, our total liability for claims relating to the Booking Platform shall not exceed the amount paid by the healthcare professional for the most recent quarterly period.

12. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless DoctorDirectory, its owner, and service providers from any claims, losses, liabilities, damages, or expenses arising from:

  • Your use of the website
  • Medical services provided by a healthcare professional
  • Inaccurate or misleading information
  • Failure to communicate appointment changes
  • Breach of these Terms

13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the website at any time if you breach these Terms or misuse the platform.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the website after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of South African courts.

16. Eligibility

You must be 18 years or older to use the website and Services.

Healthcare professionals must be legally qualified and properly registered to offer services in South Africa.
